I started out studying chemistry in college, but somewhere along the way, I realized I was much more interested in making films than spending my life in a lab. So I dropped out of college and decided to pursue filmmaking instead.

That decision took me into the film industries of Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong, where I spent seven years working on sets before eventually moving to the U.S. and continuing my career as a script supervisor in New York.

I’ve now spent over a decade in filmmaking, working across different countries, languages, cultures, and ways of making movies. I think that experience has shaped the way I work: I’m adaptable, curious, detail-oriented, and always interested in how all the pieces of a film come together.

Funny enough, I don’t think I ever completely left chemistry behind. I just traded the lab for a film set, still observing, taking notes, solving problems, and occasionally dealing with unexpected reactions.
